The Arts Centre car park is open 24 hours a day seven days a week and offers undercover parking for 850 vehicles.
For easy entry and exit, the car park features the option of credit card payment at the arrival gates and five pay stations conveniently located around the facility. You can also pay on arrival via the pay machines to avoid the queues when you leave.
The Arts Centre car park is an inexpensive alternative to inner-city parking and enjoys ease of access to all Arts Centre venues including the State Theatre, Hamer Hall, Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the central business district. We are also less than five minutes walk from Federation Square, the Melbourne CBD, Malthouse Theatre, Victorian College of the Arts and the wider Southbank precinct.
Located beneath the National Gallery of Victoria, there is undercover lift and stair access to the gallery during gallery business hours.
Wheelchair access is available on all levels of the car park.
Entry to the Arts Centre car park is located on the corner of Sturt and Kavanagh Streets, Southbank and is easily accessed from St Kilda Road / Southbank Boulevard and Alexandra Avenue / City Road.

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR PARKING
Use your credit card at the entry
When you use your credit card at the car park entry no ticket is issued – your credit card is the ‘ticket’.
Payment Options and Exit
- When exiting the car park insert your credit card at the exit gate for payment and receipt. The gate will open when your payment is processed.
or
- Insert your credit card in the pay machine on arrival or on leaving for payment. Insert your credit card at exit to open gate – you will not be charged again if you have already paid via the pay machine.
Receive a ticket at entry
Payment Options and Exit
- Insert your ticket in the pay machine on arrival or leaving and pay cash or credit card. Use the ticket to exit the car park.

- When exiting insert the ticket at the exit gate and the amount owing will be displayed. Then insert credit card to pay for your car parking.
